Department of Physiology

The Department of Physiology started its departmental studies as part of the Faculty of Veterinary of Near East University in the academic year 2011-2012 with the support of Department of Physiology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ankara University and with the Department of Physiology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Uludağ University in academic year of 2013-2014.

In the department, Prof.Dr. Vedat SAĞMANLIGİL started doing full time job in 22nd of September in 2014 after his retirement from the Department of Physiology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ankara University and has been carrying out the job as a lecturer and Head of the Department.

Physiology is a branch of biology that deals with the functions and activities of life or of living matter. It provides detailed information on mechanical, physical and biochemical functions of organisms. As part of its undergraduate program, the Department of Physiology facilitates the following theoretical and practical modules: Physiology I and Physiology II (theoretical and practical, obligatory, Turkish and English), Animal Behaviour (theoretical, obligatory, Turkish and English), Exercise Physiology (theoretical, elective, Turkish and English) and Behavioural Science (theoretical, elective, Turkish).
