Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine faculty member Prof. Dr. Dilek ARSOY and Assoc. Assist. İsmail UYGUN represented our faculty with their presentation titled “A Two-Pronged Approach to Climate Change and Crop-Livestock Production” at the IVth International Scientific Congress on “Rural Areas and Ecology within the Framework of Sustainable Development” held in Kyrenia, TRNC this year. They explained both the effects of industrial agriculture and animal husbandry on climate change and the effects of climate change on agriculture, animal husbandry, and public health. Researchers from all over the world in different fields of expertise discussed the latest developments in the fields of rural development, climate change, and ecology with their presentations.

Prof. Dr. Dilek Arsoy: “Today, climate change and its impacts are among the priority issues, and the effects of animal production on climate change are discussed. At the same time, changing climate has very important effects on animals and public health. These impacts were presented in two ways at the congress and the latest developments in the fields of rural development, climate change, and ecology were discussed.”
