Future veterinary surgeons of Near East University continue to discuss different aspects of their professions with the professionals they come together at “Career Days”

The “Career Days” events initiated by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Near East University to guide students on career choice and career planning continue. In the first of the series of events that brought together the veterinarians of the future with professionals of the profession, Dr. Eren Can Özfırat, PhD in Surgery, met with the students with his presentation on “Being a Veterinarian in England”.

In the second event, Dr. Derya Tan Ürse, Regional Quality and Food Safety Leader of Pladis Global, one of the world’s largest snack companies, met with students with her presentation “The Role of Veterinarians in World Class Food Safety and Quality”. Career Days, which aim to provide students with a broader perspective on their professions, will continue with different speakers in the new semester.

Professionals meet the veterinarians of the future!

The first event of Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Career Days was held with the participation of Dr. Eren Can Özfırat under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Ebru Yalçın, Faculty Member of Internal Medicine Department of Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Eren Can Özfırat, who made a presentation on “Being a Veterinarian in the UK”, discussed the role, duties and characteristics of the veterinary profession in the UK.

In the second event of “Career Days”, Dr. Derya Tan Ürse, Regional Quality and Food Safety Leader of Pladis Global, discussed “The Role of Veterinarians in World Class Food Safety and Quality”. Pladis Global is a Turkish company ranked among the top 10 largest companies in the world in the field of chocolate and confectionery by the internationally respected publication Candy Industry. In the event, the important role of veterinary medicine in terms of food safety and quality was emphasized and a different perspective was presented to the students.

Reminding that veterinary medicine has become a developing and changing field day by day, Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Deniz Seyrek İntaş said, “With the Career Days events we organize, we aim to enable our students, who come from many countries of the world and meet at our faculty, to discover different areas of expertise by bringing them together with current developments in the sector.” Prof. Dr. Deniz Seyrek İntaş emphasized that these events are an important platform that equips students with practical experiences in the sector as well as academic knowledge and said, “I would like to thank Dr. Eren Can Özfırat and Dr. Derya Tan Ürse for sharing their experiences with our students. In the coming days, our career day events will continue with the participation of new names.”
