Dr Gizem Morris is Head of Department in Animal Health Economies & Management and Executive Board Member of Veterinary Faculty at Near East University.

She holds a PhD and MSc in Leadership and Management, from University of Westminster, and her research investigated in professional emotional labour in the Veterinary Profession. She is passionate about Affective Neuroscience and taught related programmes at Executive MBA in King’s Business School, at King’s College London. She is also a learning and development executive working in partnership with Centre for Economic and Social Policies (ECOSO) to create learning strategies, oversee their execution and ensure that educational programs align with company's capacity development goals. Over the years, she has been awarded several teaching excellence awards from different British and American universities for her contribution to interdisciplinary teaching and advocacy of diversity, equity and inclusion.

She has acted as business analyst on European projects and was appointed as political leader by the Fulbright Commission on Bi-communal Peace-building youth camps. Over a decade, she has been trained to facilitate multi-cultural dialogues at Youth for Exchange and Understanding as representative of Cypriot communities and has volunteered in the Society for the Protection of Sea Turtles in Cyprus.
