Prof. Dr. Kamil SEYREK İNTAŞ

Prof. Dr. Kamil SEYREK İNTAŞ who is working at the Near East University (NEU) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Hospital as a lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was born in 1961 in Bursa/TURKEY. He completed his primary and high school education in Bursa and studied civil engineering in Istanbul for one year. After that he moved to Bursa to study veterinary medicine. In 1984 he graduated from Bursa Uludağ University (BUU) as a veterinary surgeon. While he was a research assistant at the same university and a Ph.D. student at Istanbul University Institute of Health Sciences Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he went to Justus Liebig University (JLU) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Department of Gynecology and Andrology in Giessen / Germany to carry out his Ph.D between 1988 and 1993. He completed his doctorate in Giessen and returned to his duty at BUU. Kamil SEYREK İNTAŞ was appointed Assistant Professor in 1996, Associate Professor in 1999 and Professor in 2005.

He was Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of BUÜ between 2004 and 2014, founding director of Mennan Pasinli Equine Vocational School 2000-2015, and the founding director of Keles Vocational School 2004-2008. He was Senate member, MEYOK member, MEYOK International Relations Board Coordinator, BUU Member of International Relations Board, BUU Strategy Determination Board Member, BUU Student Activities Commission Member, BUU Member of the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Member of Professional Policies Committee, BUU Equestrian Security Unit (co-founder, advisor and trainer) between March 1996-2015. He is the co-founder and coach of the Equestrian Students’ Club together with Prof. Dr. Deniz SEYREK-İNTAŞ. For a long time he worked as a board member of BUU Sports Club and as the second president of the club together with the Rector on duty.

After 1993, he took part in many short and long term studies, especially in Germany, England, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria.

Kamil SEYREK İNTAŞ established the first vocational school of horsemanship in Turkey together with Deniz SEYREK INTAŞ and worked as the founding director of the high school for 15 years. In 2008, he was awarded with Keles Honorary Citizenship Certificate by the Keles District Governorship and Keles Municipal Assembly as the Director of Keles Vocational School. Later in 2011 he was awarded the Wilhelm Pfeiffer Medal for his helpful services to the veterinary medicine profession by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of JLU, and for his contribution to the development of the international relations of the profession.

Scientific studies and his main topics of interest are infectious infertility, pneumovagina / -metra, urovagina / -metra, gynecological operations, correction of perineal conformational disorders, udder health and mastitis in cows, pathology of gynecological problems, abort induction, ketosis and birth stimulation in sheep and goats, metabolic problems encountered in puerperal cows, and reproductive ultrasonography in domestic animals.

There are more than 30 scientific articles published in international scientific journals, numerous scientific presentations on international congresses, articles published in national journals, many papers presented on national congresses, and three books and course notes.

Between 2017-2108 he was assigned to teach and join studies at Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He still carries out this task.

Until now, five doctoral students have graduated, and one more is continuing his study at BUU and two of them are at Near East University. He is still working as an academician at BUU Institute of Health Sciences.

He speaks fluently German (KPDS 95, ÜDS 99) and reads English fluently, little French (based on foreign language courses during Middle, High School and Faculty education). He has good computer experience.

He performs coaching and is opportunistic team athlete as a hobby in sports such as showjumping, dressage, horseback riding, snow and water skiing, sailing, free-diving, volleyball, and table-tennis. Other hobbies include driving motorcycles and long vehicles.

Professor Dr. Kamil SEYREK İNTAŞ is married to Deniz SEYREK İNTAŞ since 1985. They have a daughter named Melisa (Space Engineer) and a son named Giray (Architect).
