Central Research and Microbiology Laboratory
Central Research and Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Near East University serve to undergraduate and doctoral education programs about etiology, pathogenesis, prevention and control measures of infectious diseases in animals. Practices and basic research are carried out on these subjects. Academic staff of Microbiology Department perform practices about General Microbiology, Immunology and Serological Diagnostic Methods, Special Microbiology and Poultry Diseases as obligatory practice lessons for doctorate students. Undergraduate students of Veterinary Medicine benefit from maximum amount of laboratory facilities in the part of doctoral studies and projects.

Microbiology Diagnostic Laboratory serve about bacteriological, mycological and serological examinations which samples sent by both Havva Hanım Farm, Arapköy Horse Farm, Practise and Research Farms of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and public organizations for all animal species.

Today, there is functional laboratory substructure for research and development, routine diagnostic practices and student practices. Microbiology Diagnostic Laboratory has VITEK 2 Compact device and API systems for isolation and identification of bacterial diseases; ELISA (Mindray) device for serologic diagnostics and also Class II biosafety cabinet (CHC), incubator systems and sterilization unit including autoclave, bain and sterilizer pasteur oven. In the meantime, PCR laboratory is available for the molecular diagnosis of bacterial infections of animals and carry out research projects related specific bacterial agents.
