Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Disease

Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases, which commenced lecturing activity in the academic year of 2012-2013, was established with the contributions of Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ankara University under Faculty of Veterinary of the Near East University.

Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases is a branch of veterinary science that tries to develop and improve animal husbandry and to provide current knowledge and techniques about animal nutrition and nutritional diseases. The aim of this course is to provide the students with special knowledge on the importance of nutrition in herd health and the prevention and solution of nutritional diseases. Following the information is given in the processing of feed, ruminant feeding, poultry feeding, horse feeding and feeding of pet animals are handled separately. With the help of the applied ration preparation techniques, the knowledge of the students about the adequate and balanced feeding of the animals is completed.

In order to find solutions for the subjects needed in the field of animal nutrition, it is also important to plan scientific researches and to transfer the new information obtained to practice. In addition, the ration preperation and animal feeding issues are given to the breeders to provide all kinds of support.

At the Department of Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases, the undergraduate courses such as Feed Hygiene and Technology, Agronomy, Feed Additive Agents, Feed Legislation and Animal Nutrition and Nutritional Diseases are given both in a theoretical and practical way.
