Department of Veterinary History and Deontology

The Department of History of Veterinary Medicine and Deontology started its departmental studies as part of the Faculty of Veterinary of Near East University in the academic year 2011-2012. The Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Raziye Tamay BAŞAĞAÇ GÜL, previously Head of Department of Veterinary Medicine and Deontology of Faculty of Veterinary of Ankara University, now has been appointed the Head of Department. The Department of History of Veterinary Medicine and Deontology of Faculty of Veterinary of Near East University has been founded with the support of the Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Raziye Tamay BAŞAĞAÇ GÜL and Assist. Prof. Dr. Atilla ÖZGÜR.

Beginning from 2014-2015 Academic year Spring Term, Assist. Prof. Dr. Savas Volkan GENC, who assigned from Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Medicine and Deontology, continues teaching activities.

Deontology is the ethical theory concerned with duties and rights. It is the branch of science that deals with duty, moral obligation and right action.

As part of its undergraduate program, the Department of History of Veterinary Medicine and Deontologyfacilitates the following theoretical and practical modules: History of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary and Public Relations, Veterinary Medicine Legislations and Ethics.
